Since 2016, Sussex County Maker Fest has operated under a few different names, bringing together creative, innovative people, artists, and DIY enthusiasts to celebrate and share their projects.
Hosted by Ideal Farm & Garden Center in Lafayette, NJ, Sussex County Maker Fest features a robot combat tournament hosted by GSCRL, Power Racing Series races,demonstrations, hands-on workshops, all alongside Ideal Farm's usual family-friendly fall activities.

Event Date and Location
Sussex County Maker Fest is hosted by Ideal Farm and Garden Center in Lafayette, NJ. The 2026 event will be on October 3rd and 4th, 2026. SCMF is free to attend and has a variety of activities and attractions for all ages.
What to Expect
- Combat robots, with fights taking place throughout both days of the event. If you like BattleBots, you'll want to check this out.
- Power Racing Series races. Come see what happens when you modify children's ride-on toys into electric go-karts on a $500 budget!
- Hands-on maker activities for adults and children.
- Talks and demonstrations on a variety of topics, ranging from agriculture and biodiesel to electronics and digital technology.
- All of Ideal Farm's usual fall activities, including hayrides and pumpkin picking.
Food will be available for purchase from food trucks onsite as well as baked goods and local favorites from Ideal Farm.

Exhibitors
We'd love for you or your organization to become a part of Sussex County Maker Fest. Agricultural speakers, crafters and makers, and STEM clubs are encouraged to participate. At Sussex County Maker Festival, we encourage new and different participants to join us. If you don't see your field mentioned in past events, fill out our Call for Exhibitors form and be the first!
Registration is free for exhibitors and educators, but there is a $50/day fee for vendors. If you're interested in both vending and exhibiting, please reach out to discuss possible discounts or waivers.
